Topshop may be coming to a neighborhood near you in the near future. The store’s exec Sir Philip Green just inked a deal with investment group Leonard Green & Partners (LGP) to expand the retailer’s reach within three to four years with the sale of a 25% stake. For starters, the British retailer will continue its partnership with Nordstrom where it has 14 in-store locations but will open the first U.S. Topshop and Topman stores in Los Angeles on February 14 with a possible Manhattan Flagship in the future. The businessman talked to Women’s Wear Daily about the deal and revealed that there may be up to 50 stores that could hit malls across the U.S. “[LGP] feels that we can go into at least 50 cities,” he said. “We’ve never thought of that.” The new deal leaves open many possibilities, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that we’ll see more of the British designs!
