Now that Tory Burch secured her place in the fashion industry as a (wealthy) force to be reckoned with, she is set to add a beauty line to her budding empire. She joins list of designers who have recently added their names to cosmetic lines like Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors.
The newly minted billionaire designer is working with Estee Lauder on her very first fragrance inspired by her memories of her family. The scent, her father: “Every day we was perfectly dressed and had a great scent,” Burch told Women’s Wear Daily. The bottle, her mother who’s vanity was lined with vintage ones. “It’s really a launch of a new brand,” Estee Lauder executive Veronique Gabai-Pinsky. “It’s really a launch of a new brand. We’re starting to build a foundation of a multicategory beauty company.”
Her multicategory beauty company includes not just a fragrance but a cosmetic capsule collection! “I don’t have a lot of time to get to ready in the morning, so we did a lip and cheek in one–that’s often how I do it, I’ll put lipstick on my cheeks [as blush] if I only want to bring one thing with me.” The collection will include a $32 lipstick in the designer’s signature shade, Pas du Tout, a pink-nude, a rosy pink lip and cheek tint for $38, a bronzer-blush palette for $48 and a retractable face brush, $48. The cosmetics will carry some of the notes from the fragrance. How’s that for branding?
The bath and body line will consist of a 6.5-oz body cream for $80, 7.6-oz body lotion for $50, a 8.5-oz bath and shower gel, $50 and an 11-oz candle for $60.
Not too shabby for the woman Forbes named one of the most powerful, right? Everything will be launched on September 26 and an online presale will start on September 6th. The cosmetics will be sold only at Tory Burch boutiques and ToryBurch.com and the fragrance and bath products will be sold at select Bloomingdales, Holt Renfrew, as well as Tory Burch boutiques and online.
