Talking with Tyty, take two!
While she’s gearing up for the 21st cycle of The CW hit America’s Next Top Model, Tyra Banks, smize master and supermodel, is headed back to daytime television. Banks, who boasts production credits and a five-year run with her once eponymous talk show, is teaming up with Disney for the “fierce” project that executives say will “incorporate her personal message of self-confidence to the syndication marketplace.”
Banks echoed those sentiments, adding that she too, has “lots to learn” in the process.
“The fire to inspire women and help them to blaze new paths fiercely burns inside of me,” Banks said in a statement. “I’m excited to be partnering with Disney-ABC to usher in a new era of lifestyle, beauty, and entertainment that will inspire women to be the CEO of their lives via honesty, humor and the newest tips and tricks without being intimidating or precious.”
The syndicated talk show will feature a panel of lifestyle experts, celebrities, and web personalities, tackle a range of topics, and offer a cross-platform experience to reach Banks’ 28 million followers. When the show debuts in 2015, it’s likely to fill Katie Couric’s hour-long time slot on ABC.
Judging by her success with ANTM (which has inspired 26 international spin-offs), and the two Daytime Emmys already on her repertoire, we’d say Banks has hit another goldmine.
