Uglydolls Nab Their Own Beauty Line

By  May 03, 2013

If you’re inner child is alive and well (like mine is), you’ll love this! Pretty Ugly, LLC, maker of those adorable misfits, the Uglydolls, has signed with Boldface Group, Inc. for a collection of beauty products.

Boldface, the company behind the Kardashians‘ Khroma makeup line, has set out to create a collection of lip glosses and nail goodies that you’ll see on department store beauty counters and a bath and body care line for major retailers just in time for the holidays with a full roll out slated for next year.

Fans of the plush toy line won’t have to worry about the beloved characters; they’re in good hands. “We are committed to the positive message that ‘ugly’ is the new beautiful,” Nicole Ostoya, Boldface’s CEO, told Women’s Wear Daily, who also noted that the lines would stay true to “life the way the artist wants to see it done.”

This isn’t the first time a children’s brand has crossed over into the beauty aisle, as Hello Kitty had a collection with MAC back in 2009 and became a part of the Sephora family in 2011 while Minnie Mouse received the OPI treatment last year. What do you think about the upcoming line?
