Vanessa Paradis Gets Eco-Conscious by Shopping Vintage

By  January 22, 2013

Vanessa Paradis is lifting everyone’s consciousness on sustainability this spring.

The triple threat is the face of Conscious at H&M, a blend of trendy pieces fit for the season like sundresses, utility jackets, printed trousers, and other romantic silhouettes with tropical prints and hues. The men’s collection features blazers, chinos, Ikat print shirts and shorts, and there are even styles for the little ones in the family! The clothes and accessories are crafted from sustainable materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel.

On the heels of the release of the Conscious collection, the retailer is finally rolling out its garment collecting initiatives in stores where consumers who donate a bag of unwanted clothes – regardless of label - will receive a voucher from the retailer.

Paradis was proud to be part of the campaign and noted that shopping vintage was a great way to shop sustainably. “I try my best to shop consciously, and vintage is very much a part of my wardrobe,” she said. “I love the style and it works in an eco-friendly way because I like to use and reuse old clothes.”

The conscious collection hits shelves and online at HM.com on March 25th.
