Vena Cava’s ‘90s Nostalgia

Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock of Vena Cava launched us back to the ‘90s with their Fall 2011 show. Off-the-shoulder blouses, sleek cut-out frocks and crop tops dominated, giving off an edgy vibe that never felt sloppy or overly grungy. Sheer black skirts in floor-grazing lengths soared down the runway with the greatest of ease, reminding us why we loved the 90s. The designing duo apparently listened to loads of Fiona Apple to get them in the spirit of things. An extra bonus? Buhai and Mayock created a cheeky ‘zine filled with inspiration images left on seats for each guest. Take us back to 1993, please!
