Little girls grow up to be brides, trading in their tulle ballerina skirts for more sophisticated, grown up versions by Vera Wang. The designer’s Fall 2013 Bridal Collection reinterpreted the stereotypically juvenile, even tacky material, crafting it into romantic ornamentation. Taking the place of jewelry, tulle collars paired with strapless dresses added the needed something around the neck. Other designs turned to high lace necklines for clavicle embellishment. From mermaid style wonders to full ball gown beauties, the skirts boasted textured organza, styled similarly to tulle. Despite the array of textures and materials, the airy design of each dress made for an elegant walk, or rather, dreamy float, down the runway. Earlier in March, Vera Wang also launched a wedding app making it possible to have the whole Vera Wang wedding experience right on your iPhone or iPad.
