It’s official, Lena Dunham has achieved ‘IT’ girl status. No wonder rumors are swirling that she is poised to be Anna Wintour’s February cover girl—though not, completely unfounded, the bobbed editrix did show up to the season premiere in New York on Monday.
“That shocked me,” Lena told Vanity Fair. She didn’t say it to me, but she said it in the media, and I was like, We’ll get to work on that! I’d love to see Victoria Beckham, like, dress it down a little bit, maybe do Victoria Beckham as somebody’s adult-education teacher or something. I love her; she’s very chic and nice.”
If this camp does happen, Beckham would join Jenna Lyons, the creative director of J.Crew, who makes an appearance on the coming-of-age comedy. (Or is it a drama?) “Jenna is an incredibly fascinating person, and I was freaking thrilled by the concept of filming her, and so when she said yes, I obviously tailored the part to her, because she’s so iconic and specific,” Dunham said.
It’s obvious that fashion has given Dunham and Girls a stylish seal of approval. Come on, Vogue cover!
