Given her role as Sydney Prosser in American Hustle (who enjoys the decadence of 40 different outfits including designs by Diane von Furstenberg, Halston, and Gucci), we’d love to see Amy Adams break out of her existing mold with a touch of ’70s edge.
This year, there are dual factors to consider when contemplating Amy Adams’ dress of choice for her moment on the red carpet as a nominee for best actress. As we’re all well aware, she has a penchant for frothy, princess-like dresses (remember her ballet-pink Marchesa number complete with a mermaid skirt from last year’s Golden Globes or her Oscar de la Renta dream for the Oscars?). If we had our wish for this year’s awards season, she’d walk the red carpet in the bold closing look from Alexandre Vauthier’s fall 2013 couture collection. But an option from Elie Saab, J. Mendel, or Armani Privé seems most likely to accompany Adams on her Golden Globe strut.
