They’re the ladies we tune into weekly for a good belly laugh, and now the gals will vie for the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy. As the star prep for the first red carpet of awards season, we can’t help but wonder what they will wear as well as what hairstyle they’ll pair with their gowns. We turned to Herbal Essences celebrity stylist Charles Baker-Strahan for insight on the nominees, including one of his clients.

Lena Dunham - Lena likes to play up her eyes, and her short crop is growing out, so I predict that she might do something sleek, perhaps with a deeper side part and sweeping fringe across the forehead. This is a trend we’ve seen on a lot of the runways for spring/summer. To get this type of look on finer hair, start with the new Herbal Essences Naked Volumizing Soufflé on wet hair to set the deep side part and allow the hair to air dry with a soft hold. Finish with the Herbal Essences Naked Flexible Hold Spritzer to hold the style, keeping it sleek but not weighed down.

Edie Falco – I really like Edie’s softly layered collarbone length cut! It looks beautiful when it is softly blown out with a touch of a soft wave and a bit of volume and movement. There are two tricks to keeping body in your blow out that lasts through a long night like the Golden Globes. Start with the new Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner in the shower to provide a gentle clean without stripping the hair of natural oils which will help to minimize the likelihood of flyaways. Then, apply the new Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo – it has a tapioca formula is leaves less powdery residue, and the tapioca expands and flocks the hair to make it look thicker and provide great volume that has a lasting quality on a beautiful blow out!

Amy Poehler – Amy (a personal favorite and client) is really looking great these days! She can sometimes go for a menswear trend, but can also go for a knockout dress. I love her new cover of Elle featuring her with lots of volume and curl! Soft texture and hitting that mid-length hair trend works great on her! Can’t wait to see her host again this year!

Julia Louis Dreyfus – I would love to see her hit the trend of simple up-dos. For example, leaving some of her natural curly texture for soft volume that’s worked back into a loose, easy French twist. She has beautiful bone structure and pretty eyes, and this style is chic and easy, which would look beautiful on her.
