What to Wear: Tailgating

By  November 01, 2013

Like clockwork, chillier temps put me in the mood to tailgate.

I’m talking put me in a parking lot with hand warmers, red solo cups, cornhole (we don’t call it “bags” where I’m from) and a grill to boot.

This weekend’s look is the perfect meet-in-the-middle mix of your sports- and style-loving worlds. Plus, the Team Wang tee is a total conversation starter, don’t you think?

I may not be an expert on the game itself, but I can certainly pull together a super-cute, football-friendly ensemble. My go-to’s for game day? A cross-body carry-all, hair tie and sunglasses.

Accessory-wise, keep it basic. And leave the heels at home – there’s no need to be a hero. Cross-body bags let you stay you hands free (high five!) and allow you to avoid placing your bag on a peanut-covered ground. As the temperatures continue to dip, scarves and vests are two great layering options – they keep you warm and they provide a pop of color for the team you’re cheering on.
