When Baubles Pair with Good Deeds: Lorraine Schwartz Helps to Give Back

By  April 01, 2013

Normally, to get your hands on luxury jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz‘s pieces, you have to make an appointment at her 5th Avenue showroom in New York City or shop exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman for them. But recently, Schwartz put her diamonds where her heart is and collaborated with Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for a day of jewelry making at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C with 6-to-15-year old cancer patients. She helped them to design one-of-a-kind fine jewelry which was then worn by the likes of Beyonce, Taylor Shift, Katy Perry, Pharrell and Miley Cyrus.

To add another layer to the charitable aspect, the bracelet and earrings made by Schwartz and the Gabrielle Angel Foundation for Cyrus were then put on auction! The set, made of black spinel and green garnet set in 18k gold, decorated the starlet as she attended Clive Davis‘ Grammy party. From beautiful accessories to a good cause - all of the proceeds from the auction went to funding a grant to provide jewelry and art therapy programs at Children’s National Medical Center.

Baubles for a good cause? What’s not to like about that?!
