Mirror, mirror, on the wall, which cities in the U.S. are the vainest of them all?
Yes, it may be a bit ironic that we’re pointing out the vainest cities–and of course we’re all about promoting looking glamorous, trying fabulous hairstyles, makeup looks, and skin regimens, but we do appreciate that there are some limits.
The results are based on factors such as number of plastic surgeons, tanning salons, and businesses that cater to making you beautiful.
Here are three of the Top 5 Cities, just to give you a taste:
#5 Los Angeles. There are 4.1 plastic surgeons per 100,000 people, and Angelenos spend nearly $50 million a year on cosmetics, hair products and skin care.
#4 Salt Lake City, Utah. Shocking but true: the home city of the Mormon church boasts more plastic surgeons than any other city in the U.S.: for every 100,000 people, there are six plastic surgeons.
#3 San Francisco, CA. Citizens blow about $11 million a year on skincare, $5.2 million on hair products and $1.3 million on makeup, and there are 5.4 plastic surgeons per 100,000 people. Who knew this city with a serious hippy history spent so much on looking good!
