The Catching Fire star shared that the awkward growth stage of her previous cut annoyed her enough to say goodbye to the locks. “I don’t know, I cut it earlier, and it was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length, and I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, ‘Well I don’t want to do this,’ so I just cut it off,” she explained during a Yahoo interview with Marissa Mayer. “It just couldn’t get any uglier.”
I can certainly understand the urge to snip your strands during the grow-out stage. After see so many stars opt for Michelle Williams’ iconic style, I have serious case of hair envy myself!
Never fear, Hunger Games fans – Katniss’ signature braid isn’t going anywhere. “This isn’t how Katniss is going to look in the next movie, don’t worry,” she said. “I’m wearing a wig [in the movies].” Whew!
