Could a holly jolly holiday with Jay Z be in the works at Barneys New York? It’s possible as Women’s Wear Daily reports the retailer has held secret talk the Roc Nation head on a future collaboration, “even one tied to the store’s upcoming holiday campaign.”
As one of Time’s 100 Most Influential, the partnership would make perfect sense as the “Picasso Baby” artist has recently partnered with a slew of brands, including Budweiser for his Legends of Summer tour and Samsung for Magna Carta Holy Grail’s release.
He would follow in the footsteps of some pretty spectacular and controversial alumni, including Lady Gaga’s Workshop, that had little monsters coming in droves in 2011 and Walt Disney’s Electric Holiday that brought out everyone’s inner child last year. While it remains to be seen if the partnership will go through as speculated, we’re curious as to how the mogul’s “Empire State of Mind” would translate to Barneys holiday shoppers— maybe more “Tom Ford?”
