YouTube Gurus Get Into the Beauty Box Biz

Whether it’s Michelle Phan, Kandee Johnson, or even Lauren Luke, every beauty buff has their go-to guru on YouTube. Now their influence is cutting through the screen into reality and coming to your doorstep thanks to Star Looks.

Inspired by MAC’s celeb focus for Viva Glam, YouTube vloggers like Ashley Hackman and Raiden Quinn aka Regular Russ were tapped to curate boxes based on their favorite Starlooks products and their unique approach to beauty. “We contacted about 100 to 200 YouTubers a month and sent them samples of products,” founder Marci Star told Women’s Wear Daily. “We saw their [positive] reviews of our products and that’s where we built our biggest brand loyalty.” Both will promote the $15 monthly boxes on their channels corresponding with their launches.

MAC’s philanthropic ideals extend beyond uses famous faces for promotion of their campaign, as Star plans to donate limited edition Starbox proceeds to women’s shelters in the future. Beauty that gives back? Sign us up!
