By now you’ve heard that short haircuts are happening, and there’s nothing more of-the-moment than a pixie cut. Still, despite all of the celebrities who have taken a chance on a pair of scissors, it takes a lot of courage to chop off your hair. What happens when you get sick of the style?
The common misconception is that the shorter the hair, the less versatile it becomes. To prove people wrong, blogger Moanalani Jeffrey is here to share the transformative powers of a pixie. “A lot of people think there is only one way to wear a short haircut, but I’m going to show you three different styles you can do to a pixie cut,” she says. For the first look, Jeffrey shares her everyday style. Sideswept and piece-y, she uses a flatiron to add volume and oomph before combing through with her fingers.
The second style has added texture for an edgier vibe. Jeffrey starts by applying a pomade, which provides grit and hold. Then, using a flatiron, she curls the front of hair back and up to achieve lift and movement.
The final style epitomizes elegance. To get the super-slick look, she uses a serum to smooth hair down to one side and a pomade to polish flyaways. She finishes by using bobby pins to create a retro S-wave along her hairline.
