The Bob Has Officially Reached Cult Status: Bella Hadid Is The Latest Celeb To Make The Cut
We're starting to think there is some sort of club in Hollywood, and only celebrities with chic bob haircuts can join. The latest to hop on the bandwagon: Bella Hadid, who debuted her brand new look at London Fashion Week during Burberry’s spring 2020 show.
The straight, center-parted style falls just below Hadid's chin, highlighting her famous bone structure. Her dark roots contrast the blonde highlights throughout the length of her hair, a look that was universal on the runway. (Even Kendall Jenner went blonde for the show.)
“The overall feeling to the hair is this rich feeling, a controlled naturalness. It’s a modern, new texture,” said Guido Palau, celebrity hairstylist and Redken global creative director, who dreamed up the hairstyles for the show.
Later, Hadid touched down in Milan where she went to work with her new sun-kissed bob. For the Alberta Ferretti on Wednesday, her short crop was styled with a wavier texture. “It’s freshly-washed beach hair,” hairstylist Duffy told Vogue of the look, further proving the versatility of the bob haircut. “It’s got an airiness to it. Just cool and effortless.”
Hadid may be the queen of laissez-faire hair, but she's got us convinced the bob is effortlessly cool. She has also been spotted out and about with a more tousled, undone style.
And while we can barely keep up with Hadid's hair transformations these days, we're certainly not complaining. She's providing endless inspo! Earlier this year, the 22-year-old model went from her signature dark locks to a lighter, honey-blonde shade. The color looks gorgeous on her, obviously, and is actually closer to her natural hair color.
Still, her recent transformations have come as a bit of a surprise given that she intentionally separated her look from her sister Gigi Hadid's. “I just have a darker personality. And my sister being blonde and me being brunette, it’s a good separation,” the model told Allureback in 2016. “I put a blonde wig on and think it would be fun to go back, but I’m happy with my hair. Blondes are so angelic. My sister can get away with anything.”
Regardless, we just excited to see what she does next.
