‘GOT’ Star Emilia Clarke Cut Off Her Hair And It’s Shorter Than Ever
While Kit Harington recently revealed plans to cut off his hair after filming the final season of Game of Thrones, it looks like his co-star Emila Clarke beat him to the punch. On Thursday, the Mother of Dragons debuted a playful pixie cut on Instagram, a look that completely contrasts her character’s memorable hairstyle.
The short style comes courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Jenny Cho, and perhaps the best part is that it was inspired by the matching hairstyles Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt rocked while dating in the ‘90s. The side-swept, shaggy pixie is full of texture, taking it to the playful, punky place of everyone's now favorite decade.
“Me: I’m thinking when Gwyneth and Brad had the same haircut. @jennychohair: I got ‘chu #nowijustneedanextra2feetoflegs @jennychohair I would follow you into any battle anytime anywhere #fortheloveofthelowmaintenance,” Clarke wrote on Instagram.
Clarke, who is a natural brunette, dyed her hair platinum blonde for the first time last year (yes, she wore wigs all those years on GOT). Earlier this month, she revealed to British Harper’s Bazaar that this drastic change damaged her healthy hair, so shortly after, she cut it into a LOB — almost the shortest it’s ever been, she told the publication — to help grow out the bleached strands.
Still on the topic, she hinted that she may go even shorter: “I do bloody love long hair, but then I’m always dreaming of cutting it all off and having a pixie cut – but I don’t know that my face could take it.”
From the looks of it, we’d say the textured pixie frames her face perfectly. Plus, she will always have those dragon tattoos to play homage to her role on GOT. The eight and final season of the show will debut in March 2019.
