No need to get your eyes checked, Gigi Hadid really is rocking super-short, dark brown hair. The 24-year-old model was spotted after trading in her signature blonde strands for a brown bowl cut, and social media seemed to collectively gasp at her drastically different look.
In the photos, Gigi is wearing what we assume is a brunette wig, along with black leggings and a jacket. E! News reports that she was in the midst of shooting a new campaign for Chanel on the rooftop of the Opera Garnier in Paris. And while the her temporary new hairstyle is just for a photoshoot, it doesn't make the photos any less jarring.

Gigi has been working with Chanel since 2015 on various campaigns and runway shows. And her current campaign with Chanel certainly isn't the first time she has gone to the dark side. In 2016, the model went brunette for a Balmain runway show. (In the same show, her friend and fellow model Kendall Jenner went blonde.)
Her sister Bella has also been experimenting with her hair color. Though Bella's natural color is a sandy blonde, she's remained a sultry brunette throughout her entire modeling career. Earlier this year, however, she went back to her roots by lightening her locks to a sunny blonde, and now seems to have returned to a darker shade.
It's hard to imagine Gigi would go short anytime soon, but maybe she'll make herself a permanent brunette? We'll have to wait and see. Apparently, the Hadid sisters can pull off anything.
