If there’s ever a time to expect major model makeovers, it’s during fashion month, and Kendall Jenner is latest to surprise us with a completely new look. The supermodel ditched her signature dark brunette strands for a dirty blonde shade during London Fashion Week and was almost unrecognizable on the runway.
Debuting the dye job at the Burberry spring 2020 fashion show today, Jenner’s hair features heavy golden blonde highlights that extend down the length of her strands. Styled straight and tucked behind her ears, a center park shows off her still-dark, shadowy roots. And while the Kardashian-Jenner sisters are known for wearing wigs, this color change appears to the real deal.
On her Instagram Stories earlier today, Jenner shared a selfie that highlighted her new blonde ‘do. She captioned the photo with a simple, “Hi.”
Unlike her sisters, Jenner isn’t one to make a lot of drastic hair color changes. But this isn’t her first time she’s gone blonde. For the 2016 Balmain show, Jenner went bright blonde while her friend and fellow model Gigi Hadid dyed her hair brunette. Earlier this year, during New York Fashion Week, the model surprised everyone by getting choppy bangs.
Similarly, this switch up was likely the direction of Burberry designer, Riccardo Tisci, and his hair and makeup team. The look paired perfectly with the heritage brand's preppy designs and tailored silhouettes. Jenner debuted the new hue wearing a white varsity jacket featuring a "Burberry England" graphic and a black fringed midi skirt.
It’s hard to say how long Jenner will keep her lighter new look, especially given the fact that she is a professional model, and therefore has to look the part for whatever gig she books. But with that said, it’s been reported that she is “taking a little bit of a break” this year and walking in less shows – so maybe her blonde strands will stick around for a bit! Other models, including Bella Hadid, have been ditching their dark hair for different shades of blonde.
