Kim Kardashian Reveals How She’s Been Covering Her Psoriasis Patches
Kim Kardashian is revealing the latest product in her beauty line while opening up more about her skin struggles. The 38-year-old star was first diagnosed with psoriasis in 2011, and has since shared her battle with the skin condition.
In a new Instagram post, the beauty mogul shares her trick to covering up the red patches and bruises she experiences: body makeup. She says it's been her secret for a decade, though it's unclear whether she's referring to KKW Beauty product or just body makeup in general. Either way, it's clear that Kim has gone to great lengths to conceal her condition, though she reiterates that she doesn't always feel the need to cover it.
“I use this when I want to enhance my skin tone or cover my psoriasis,” her caption reads, alongside photos and videos of the product in action. “I bruise easily and have veins and this has been my secret for over a decade. I’ve learned to live with and not be insecure of my psoriasis, but for days when I want to just cover it up I use this Body Makeup. My formula is so creamy and buildable and has a smooth satin finish. It builds easily for a more full coverage if needed.”
Kim also shared details about the KKW Body Collection launch, which will consist of three products (body makeup, liquid body shimmer, and loose shimmer powder) that will be available on June 21st. She says she's been working on the formulas for over a year now, and that she is finally happy with how blendable they are. “You can layer the formulas together or use them individually to achieve how much coverage and shimmer you want,” she adds.
Props to Kim for reinforcing the fact that while ideally we'd all be okay with our flaws, it's okay to wear makeup to feel more confident.
