The 45th annual American Music Awards was flooded with both beauty and talent, from the red carpet to the closing act. And it was the women who stole the show. In case you missed it, or you just want to relive the awesomeness, we’ve rounded up the best moments from the night at the Microsoft Theater in LA.
The legendary performer was this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. She gave an iconic performance to close out the evening and invited her family onto the stage to say goodnight. She’s still got it, everyone!
Tracee Ellis Ross
The host rocked the stage in numerous show-stopping outfits, the most amazing being the actual shirt her mother wore while performing with Michael Jackson, which she found in Diana’s garage! It was also so nice to watch her host while her mother was the night’s biggest winner.
Not only did Kelly give us a much-needed dose of nostalgia with her ‘Miss Independent’ lead into ‘Love So Soft,’ but she also made everyone cry in the night’s opening number—she and P!nk sang ‘Everybody Hurts’ as a duet to pay tribute to all recent tragedies.
The singer won over the crowd as the other half of the opening act duet, but she really got everyone’s attention with her most epic performance yet —rather than swinging from the ceiling this year, she decided to do acrobatics on the side of a building.
Selena made her only television performance of the year, one that has been full of struggles for the singer, with a stunning rendition of ‘Wolves.’
The singer went all out with her anti-bullying message during her performance. It began with her seated in the audience, watching a flurry of hate-tweets calling her “fat” and “ugly,” before she broke into ‘Sorry Not Sorry.’
