Surprise! Amy Schumer, everyone’s favorite (or least favorite) comedian, is expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer. Rumors about a pregnancy began shortly after the two were married on February 13, 2018 during an intimate ceremony with family and friends.
Earlier this afternoon, the 37-year-old comedian posted a meme to her Instagram hinting at a pregnancy. Alongside a photo of her and Fischer's heads Photoshopped over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bodies, she wrote: "About to announce some exciting news on @jessicayellin insta page. Please follow her for up to the minute #newsnotnoise she breaks down what’s really going on. She agreed to post a lil noise today for me! Follow her and VOTE!!"
ICYMI, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also expecting their first child. While this isn’t a traditional announcement, it is very much reflective of her sense of humor and unapologetically outspoken nature. She had her friend Jessica Yellin, a political journalist and founder of News Not Noise, officially share the news with some of her political recommendations.
“I wanted to share some news from our community, maybe it’s noise but it’s happy noise,” Yellin wrote on her Instagram Story. “So I’m not in the business of making voting recommendations, but these are the recommendations of Amy Schumer, one of the most consistent and earliest supporters of News Not Noise. Now read all the way to the bottom, you’ll see there’s some news down there. Congratulations, Amy.”
After reading through a list of Schumer’s picks for congressional and gubernatorial candidates, the story continues with a slide that reads, “I’m pregnant - Amy Schumer.” The comedian later confirmed with a simple “Yup.”
