Single and ready to mingle? Before you scoff at the idea of dating apps, hear me out: Bumble is looking to pay one lucky person to go on dates for a year. No joke. The company announced today that it will be accepting applications for a Global Connector Bee, whose job it will be to use Bumble Date to schedule dates around the world. We’re talking wine tastings in France, surf lessons in Australia, tea for two in the UK…
According to the company, this is an all-expense paid opportunity to travel and connect with people from other cultures. And who knows, maybe you’ll end up with a spot on TLC's 90 Day Fiancé when the year is up. Win-win, am I right?
“We are a global company on a mission to connect great people in a kind and empowering way,” said Chelsea Maclin, Vice President of Marketing at Bumble. “As our company and community of users continues to grow, it’s so important for us to advance our on-the-ground research about the global dating culture so we can optimize our product offerings for new communities and future generations.”
What’s more, the chosen one will be encouraged to use this opportunity to make new friends and network with professionals from around the world, which is perhaps more exciting, using Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz. The only caveat? The Global Connector Bee will be required to share their experiences via blog posts, social media, and other outlets – all while watching your Instagram followers skyrocket, of course.
Anyway, BRB, breaking up with my boyfriend. (Kidding – love you, J!) But seriously, what are you waiting for? If you’re 18 or older, you can apply for the position now through June 14 on the app. It's open to both new and existing users, which is at about 40 million, so act fast.
Dating is a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.
