Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend welcomed their second child, Miles, in May. Now, just a couple months after giving birth, the supermodel took to Twitter to share her post-baby body insecurities, and any woman who has given birth can probably relate.

Teigen started the thread by posting a video of herself in a cheeky bikini bottom, writing: “mom bod alert!” In the clip, she refers to her stretch marks, saying, “I guess these just aren't gonna go away. This is my body.” It’s been reported that up 90 percent of women develop stretch marks on their abdomen during pregnancy, though they are also common on the breasts, hips, thighs, and booty. While the pinkish, purplish scars never go away on their own, they do eventually fade and there are treatments to lessen the appearance.

She then shared a topless photo of herself and hubby kissing (in which she looks amazing btw) before getting real about body confidence in a series of tweets.

“Instagram is crazy. I think it’s awesome people have killer bodies and are proud to show them off (I really do!!) but I know how hard it can be to forget what (for lack of a better word) regular ol’ bodies look like when everyone looks bonkers amazing,” she wrote. “Also I don’t really call this ‘body confidence’ because I’m not quite there yet. I’m still super insecure. I’m just happy that I can make anyone else out there feel better about themselves!”

Given society’s idealistic standards of the ‘post-baby body’ and the pressure for women, especially celebrities, to return to their pre-pregnancy weight faster than they put it on, body dissatisfaction is a real concern for many new moms. So, naturally, the response Teigen got was overwhelmingly positive. “You’ve just made SO many women feel SO much better,” said one follower.

The thread even inspired one fan to post a photo of her post-babies body, writing: “Can't believe I'm doing this, as no one's seen my stomach since '01, this was actually a good day. 5 (big) kids, stretched out skin, multiple scars from gall bladder surgery but it's me and I wouldn't change a thing. Real mom body.”

Teigen finished the series of inspiring Tweets by saying, “ok back to being stupid!” Bring on the laughs.
