Jessica Simpson has been in the public eye for nearly 20 years, and it's been quite an eventful journey. Fans have watched her climb the pop music charts, star in blockbuster movies, deal with a very public divorce, become a mother, create a billion-dollar fashion empire, and famously confuse tuna and chicken on reality TV. Now, the 40-year-old multihyphenate star is sharing it all in a memoir, coming in February 2020.
Simpson shared the exciting news via Instagram with a photo in her publisher's offices. "I have been waiting for so long to share some exciting news," the caption reads. "I will be releasing my first book on February 4th with @harpercollinsus. I have been working so hard on it - I have opened my heart up in a way I never have before and now I can’t wait to share it with the world. ?"
There's no word yet on the title of the book, but the press release promises new stories about Simpson's personal and professional challenges. "Simpson opens up about her struggles, and how she learned that with the right mindset—pain can give you tools, faith can give you courage, and challenges often give way to bigger opportunities and a bigger picture," the statement says. She'll also discuss her time on the reality TV hit Newlyweds, her subsequent divorce from Nick Lachey, and finding new love with her current husband, Eric Johnson.
"Simpson will share intimate details about her career and what it took to create her billion-dollar fashion empire," HarperCollins adds. "Promising an inspiring look at her inner world, Simpson will reveal how she consistently shatter[ed] all expectations of who she was supposed to be.”
In addition to her literary ventures, Simpson also just launched JessicaSimpson.com, where she'll sell her collections, as well as stories and family photos. She also recently welcomed her third child with Johnson, 4-month-old Birdie Mae. The couple have two other children, Maxwell Drew (7) and Ace Knute (6).
Needless to say, she's a busy woman who's lived a lot, and we can't wait to see what she divulges in the pages of her book.
