Keeping up with the Kardashian babies? Well, surprise! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their fourth child via surrogate, reports Us Weekly. While the couple has yet to confirm the news, sources close to the family say the baby is due in early May.
Months after welcoming daughter Chicago in January 2018, also via surrogacy, it was revealed that the couple had one embryo left, a male, and was planning for another child. The Wests have long expressed their desire to have a big family. In addition to Chicago, they are parents to North, 5, and Saint, 3.
Kim, 38, experienced a “traumatic” natural birth with her first two children, suffering from preeclampsia and placenta accrete, high-risk conditions that pose threats to both the mother and baby. “When I wanted to have a third baby, doctors said that it wasn’t safe for my—or the baby’s—health to carry on my own,” she explained on her app. That’s when Kimye decided to explore the option of surrogacy and chose to use a gestational carrier.
“I’m so grateful for modern technology and that this is even possible,” she wrote after Chicago was born.
