As part of their first official engagement of 2019, earlier today, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went on a royal walkabout in the town of Birkenhead. While chatting with the crowd in Hamilton Square, the mom-to-be shared some exciting news: her due date! Several reporters overheard Markle say that she is six months pregnant and due around the end of April/early May.
"Meghan has told well-wishers in Birkenhead that she is six months pregnant — due end of April/beginning of May! Lots of baby chat today!" tweeted Emily Nash, the royal editor for Hello! Magazine.
Though the palace has yet to confirm, this is big news, considering the royal family hasn’t revealed much about her pregnancy. You know, protocol.
Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry and Markle were expecting their first child back in October 2018, just five months after the royal wedding. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public," a statement read at the time of the announcement.
As for whether we can expect a little prince or princess, it looks like we will just have to wait and see. In addition to revealing that she’s due in late April, Markle also responded to a young fan who asked about the baby's gender. “We don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl, we are keeping it as a surprise,” she said. So sweet!
