Uh oh... Did Serena Williams accidentally reveal the sex of Meghan Markle's baby?
In a recent interview with E! News, the tennis champion offered some sage parenting advice for the Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting her first child later this month. “Accept mistakes and don’t expect to be perfect. We put so much pressure on ourselves,” she said. “I had all those high expectations and what I was going to do and then I had what I was going to do. I was gonna recover and I was gonna be great, and this is a time that everything is not going to go as planned…You just gotta go with the flow.”
Super sweet, right? As a mother to her nearly one-year-old daughter Olympia, Serena is certainly familiar with the highs and lows of motherhood, and wants to pass that wisdom on.
But in her interview, Williams may have accidentally let one teeny tiny detail slip: the royal baby's gender.
In discussing Markle's pregnancy, Williams recants: "She was like, ‘My kid’s gonna do this,’ [and] I just looked at her like, ‘No, she’s not. No, you’re not. She was like, ‘I need to talk to you about tips,’ because, yes, I had all of those high expectations."
Fans all over the globe took a collective gasp at the word "she" when referencing the royal baby, and they were quick to bring it up on social media.
Now, it might have very well been a slip of the tongue, but people are speculating that Williams just revealed a major secret. Still, other reports, including gifts wrapped in blue packaging, suggest the baby will be a boy. So, who really knows?
Either way, we won't have to wait too much longer. While the Duchess' exact due date isn't known, she's expected to give birth soon.
