Get ready to buy your tickets! The Spice Girls are officially hitting the road for the first time in over a decade. After a rollercoaster of rumors and reports, the iconic girl group has confirmed they will be going on tour next year. The Spice World Tour was announced today on social media with a group photo and cheeky video. According to the announcement, the stadium tour will include six stops in the UK, starting in June 2019, with special guest Jess Glynne.
The only caveat? Victoria Beckham won’t be joining the girls on the reunion tour due to other business commitments. Though this is a bummer for Posh fans, it makes sense, considering the success of her eponymous clothing label and talks that a makeup and skin care line may be in the works.
Shortly after the announcement, Beckham sent well wishes to her former bandmates, writing on Instagram: “Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
Tickets for the Spice World UK tour with Mel B, Mel C, Geri, and Emma go on sale Saturday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. UK time. In addition to the six stops, the girls will reportedly be promoting a greatest hits album and are working on an animated superhero movie. Girl power!
