Although it seems like denim shorts can't get any shorter, British retailer PrettyLittleThing proved us wrong with their latest look that rivals all of the booty-bearing shorts we've seen in the past: behold the denim thong.
The revealing silhouette is called the "Mid-Wash Denim Knicker" and it retails for just $21, but considering it doesn't offer any coverage on the backside we aren't so sure it's even worth that--but we might be in the minority on this one, as the retailer is completely sold out of the silhouette.
The website calls the cut of the thong "a seriously flattering high rise style," (LOL), and recommends sporting the silhouette with "some killer chap trousers and matching bralet." While western, cowgirl-chic fashion trends have dominated the runway, this look takes the style to an entirely new level.
In fact, the body-skimming denim thong is so revealing it rivals one of the most outlandish denim trends of 2017: thong jeans. The look also reminds us of the denim underwear Britney Spears was recently photographed wearing in the new Kenzo campaign, (although we had zero intention of trying that look at home).
It's certainly safe to say these um, innovative, silhouettes aren't going anywhere --but would you actually ever wear them? Not only did they quickly go viral, but the Twittersphere erupted with a mixed response to the scantily-clad pair of bottoms.
The new silhouette is being touted as a go-to outfit to wear to music festivals, however, we're not so sure we would be quick to relax on a grassy field in the style--not to mention our concern over walking around with a massive wedgie all day.
