This weekend is sure to be a doozy as Cinco de Mayo falls on a Sunday, prompting plenty of opportunities to imbibe a bevy of beverages in honor of the famous Battle of Pueblo. While we’ve seen the margarita made by both a fireman and a lifeguard, there are many other ways to make a margarita special. Test out one of these luscious libations at one or all of the many parties expected this weekend:
Skinnygirl Sweet ‘n’ Tart Grapefruit Margarita
Handful of Frozen Grapes
Sugar or Splenda
Rim a margarita glass with either sugar or Splenda and drop a few frozen grapes into the glass. Fill the rest of the glass with the Sweet ‘n’ Tart Grapefruit margarita and garnish with a lime wedge.
Blood Orange Margarita
1 ½ oz. Tequila Avión
¾ oz. Cointreau Orange Liqueur
1 oz. Blood Orange Juice
½ oz. Fresh Sour Mix
Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with an orange twist.
1 oz. JDK&Sons Crave Chcoclate Chili Liqueur
2 oz. Sauza Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
3 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing glass over ice and shake. Strain into a margarita glass filled with ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
South American Margarita
1 ½ oz. Kappa Pisco
½ oz. Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge
½ oz. Agave Nectar
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain and pour into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.
1 ½ oz. Patron Reposado Tequila
½ oz. Zen Green Tea Liqueur
½ oz Sour Mix
Splash of Triple Sec
Splash of Lime Juice
Shake all of the ingredients over ice in cocktails shaker. Strain into a Cosmo glass rimmed with salt.
