I wake up and have a few cups of Illy black coffee and get a kiss to start a great day.
I am leaving home in my vintage 1979 Aston Martin which is a great ride along the Hudson River to my midtown studio.
After a quick read of today’s WWD, I am in a team meeting to plan the day. My in-house model is here to review my latest muslins while I make final adjustments with measuring tape, scissors and pins.
While listening to show music to bring us in the mood I am looking at inspiration for hair and makeup hanging on the board.
My fabric director is showing me some last minute beautiful swatches which is bringing a little “je ne sais quoi” to the collection
I do a brief stop to have some sushi delivered from Inakaya and then a half hour brain storm with my design team before starting again the latest draping.
I am receiving in the studio the latest embroidery on leather, mesh and tulle which is a very delicate work from Italy that needs to be sewn in the Atelier in NYC. We are all waiting for it to be finished which is one of my favorite jackets.
I am running from three different floors, the studio, the Atelier and showroom to make sure everyone is in full focus on the new collection.
Meeting with PR Director to review the attendance list for “D-DAY”.
I am continuing with the fittings but stop for a quick bite with some delicious wasabi peas and some nuts.
First view with our casting director discovering the new face of the season then a meeting with our show producer about a new possible layout of the location.
A quick dinner of fried Thai rice with shrimp and listening to the latest music selection for the installation.
I am back to fittings with a amazing new girl from Sweden: dark hair, light skin, beautiful eyebrows and an amazing body. We are all excited to see her in a hooded black trench coat in lizard.
I am home now listening to French music and having a glass of champagne with my loved one. Tomorrow is another day.
