Richard ChaiLove collection played with all forms of light in the form of flowing fabrics, shining accents, and a pastel color palette. To compliment the angular cuts and the soft shades that hit the runways, MAC’sJames Kaliardos looked to mods for inspiration. “It’s a soft ‘60s graphic eye,” he said. “Instead of using black, it’s a soft taupe.”
For a minimalist makeover, he used MAC’s Pro-Concealer Palette to cover up any spots with the brand's Face & Body Foundation to even out the skin and skipped the frills contour and blush. For the eyes, he used a new Fluidline in Dirty Blonde to line the top lash and drew it up into the crease, creating a rounded rectangle. Though the lashes were curled, there was no mascara to be found. He also kept the lip look low maintenance by using a little bit off foundation and Lip Conditioner for a plush, barely-there pout.
The tresses were pulled taught into a sleek ponytail with a hard diagonal part to align with the collection, but to nail the inspiration of the season, Julep'sJane Park plucked a metallic polish called Sienna. To replicate the softened shine of the pieces, she opted for a suede finish, using a matte top coat to help create modern look that friendly for all.
