Take that, AMC!
Walter White may, or may not, be making a cameo on Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul, but Bryan Cranstonwill be going All The Way... to HBO. The company’s film division acquired rights to the Robert Schenkkan-penned play, which stars Cranston as President Lyndon B. Johnson during his first year in office.
The role was Cranston’s first on the Great White Way and earned him accolades at the Tonys, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theater World Awards. No word yet on when the made-for-TV film will debut, but it’s bound to earn critical acclaim.
Cranston, who ended his run on Breaking Badduring the series finale last September, is nominated at this year’s Primetime Emmys. With All The Way’s HBO bow, he could be in the running next year, too.
