Though Allison Williams has only "officially" been on the scene since the beginning of Girls, she has a bit of a head start thanks to the influence of her father and a few red carpet events of her youth. Given the practice and her own dedication to style, it's quite unlikely that she'll ever falter, style wise.
With the upcoming annual Met Ball, Williams has already begun her research. (She notoriously keeps cutouts of her favorite fashion and beauty styles for inspiration and press images of herself to study for upcoming appearances.) Given the theme of this year's Costume Institute gala, Punk: Chaos to Couture, she'll have to take a departure from her usual, classically sophisticated style. "The theme is punk, so I've been doing a lot of research," she said. "I've been looking through Sex Pistols photography, pictures of Vivienne Westwood. I'm really excited to commit to that theme."
Even though punk is hardly in Williams repertoire, she's taking on the moment with serious dedication. "I started appreciating the way clothing can change the way someone looks and how it really broadcasts something about yourself. Once I started looking at that, I thought, 'Hmm, how could I wear this? How do I wear this make-up? Do I have the vibe of these women, could I pull it off?'" Considering her growing group of fashionable friends including Jason Wu, Williams is surely positioning herself as a prime candidate to become a close friend of one or more design houses!
