Alyssa Milano is having a very good week, and it’s only Monday!
Along with tonight’s premiere of her new show Mistresses, the Charmed star will also have hosting duties for the third season of Project Runway: All Stars. She’ll join returning judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman for the new competition, which goes into production this month though the cast of designers has yet to be announced.
It marks a huge change for the show as she follows in the footsteps of models, Angela Lindvall and Carolyn Murphy, who hosted the first two season of the show, respectively. While she boasts a pro-sports-themed women’s apparel and jewelry line, she has also been a red carpet regular since the '80s.
Actresses are no strangers to the all-star showdown as stars like Katie Holmes (who also has her foot in the designer door), Liv Tyler, and Boardwalk Empire’s Gretchen Mol have all appeared as guest judges in just the previous season alone! The Hollywood Reporter also noted that the small screen star has strong ties to Lifetime, thanks to her appearances in a few of the network’s original movies throughout the years.
While the choice might be debatable to some, Milano is sure to offer a fresh perspective for the new season when it premieres this fall.
