Ask a Stylist: New Ways to Wear a White Blazer
Q: I just bought a gorgeous white blazer. I’ve got the jeans look down. Now what? Do you have any other ideas for wearing this new addition to my closet?
A: I consider a white blazer to be a wardrobe staple so that means the possibilities for this garment are endless. Take from day to night, from spring to fall – your white blazer is always going to be chic.
Here are a few of my favorite ways to rock a white blazer:
Office Appropriate – For an office-ready look pair your white blazer with a black pencil skirt (bonus points if it’s leather) and a chic patterned blouse. Up the style factor by incorporating bold pops of colors like an orange tote bag and blue. Defining your waist is key, especially with a boxier blazer, throwing on a simple waist-cinching belt will do the trick.
Summertime Chic – A blazer doesn’t have to be reserved for an office look. You can wear a blazer in almost any situation. I love adding a blazer to an otherwise casual getup – it really polishes the look. Here I took a fun pair of printed shorts, a simple tank and sandals. To that I added a blazer and a fancy piece of jewelry. Those elements stepped up this look at least two notches. Wouldn’t you agree?
Night Out on the Town – There comes a point in every woman’s social life when wearing more somehow becomes sexier than wearing less. Instead of donning a skimpy mini dress all on its own, class it up with a white blazer. Throw on a great pair of shoes, statement jewelry, and a not-so-basic clutch to instantly look like a million bucks
So there are three more ways to rock your new white blazer. Get crazy and experiment with more looks on your own. Just remember, since white is a neutral its almost impossible to get it wrong.
