Designer: Donatella Versace
Inspiration: Naomi Campbell kicked off the couture clad collection which featured looks inspired by the black-and-white photography of the thirties but with a modern update.
Trends: Versace's line of slinky cocktail attire provides a new obsession for seasoned style makers unafraid of glamour, scandal, and innovation through fashion. Patent leather, shimmering silk body-con, and crocodile skin makes up the collection of form fitting dresses, some boasting hook-eye-details and sky-high thigh slits, others with provocative sheer and mesh panels, all with head turning sex appeal. Lace bras and bralettes under blazers paired with low slung flared trousers or pencil skirts have never looked so luxurious--we were reminded of Carrie Bradshaw's liking to belly baring '90s ensembles as well as her ability to make them look chic rather than unsophisticated. Wrapping up the collection, a number of very Versace floor-length hip-hugging gowns covered in embellishment and beading.
Colors: burgundy, indigo, black, forest green, crimson, plum, gunmetal.
Who Was There: Uma Thurman, Emma Roberts, Mena Suvari.
