Backstage Beauty Beat: Carolina Herrera Spring 2014
The Show: Carolina Herrera
The Hair: Inspired by seashells, Herrera asked Orlando Pita to craft an elongated double french twist. Pita sprayed the hair with Spirulina Hair Spray by Byron before teasing the hair volume on both sides and parting down the middle. He slicked each side back into the roll, pinning the twist at the nape to create a seam in the back with an extra spritz of hair spray for extra hold.
The Makeup: To bring a bit of Twiggy back tot he runway, Diane Kendal kept the focus on the lashes thanks to a tight line of MAC's Blacktrack Fluid Line along the top lashes before adding in the #33 lashes to the top and #40 lashes to the bottom for a wide-eyed flutter. While the skin was kept fresh, save for a touch of the upcoming Have a Lovely Day Casual Color, Kendal blended three hues and a lip pencil due out in the spring to create a pout to envy next season.
The Mani: Gina Edwards had the nails a soft shade of Morgan Taylor's “Heaven Sent” that went almost unnoticeable but meant to focus on on the theme of optical illusions.
