Backstage Beauty Beat: Jenny Packham
THE HAIR: The hair look at Jenny Packham’s fall 2014 show reflected the designer’s vision of ease and opulence with a loose, knotted bun. Jeanie Syfu worked TRESemme 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse into the hair and blowdried it with a round brush. Once dry, she back-brushed the hair for volume and sprayed with Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray. After gently brushing the hair away from the face, Syfu pulled the hair back into a low ponytail, so that it loosely covered the ears. The length of the hair was twisted into a bun, leaving the ends out, and fastened with bobby pins. Syfu then applied Leave-In Split End Conditioning Treatment through the front of the hairline while loosely separating the hair with her fingertips. The 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray held the style in place.
THE MAKEUP: Using Laura Mercier products, makeup artist Talia Shobrook channeled Bianca Jagger’s 1970s style. To create a youthful look, Shobrook prepped skin with Laura Mercier Moisture Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen, Foundation Primer, Secret Camoflauge and Tinted Moisturizer. She then sculpted the cheeks using Baked Eye Colour in Smoky Topaz (depending on skin tone, she used Cameo, Hot Chocolate, Luster Eye Colour in Bamboo or Sateen Eye Color in Baroque), and then exaggerated the cheekbone using the same tone. On the eyes, she applied Baked Eye Colour in Cameo as a base and topped it with Foundation Primer in Radiance for a glowing, glossy lid. The look was completed with a “just-bitten” pout, which was created by mixing Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Palm Beach and Mango and applying it with the Pony Tail Brush just onto the middle of the lips and blending it outward.
THE MANI: The jewelry-inspired mani incorporates 7 Essie polishes. Michelle Saunders applied First Base Base Coat to nails and then two coats of Mademoiselle. Using a bobby pin, she created the Solaris design by dotting lacquers on the nail in the following order: Lots of Lux, Wrapped In Rubies, Hors d’oeuvres, Penny Talk, Set In Stones. She finished the look with Good To Go Top Coat.
