Backstage Beauty Beat: Libertine Spring 2014
The Hair: Tousled tresses once again took to the catwalk as Akemi Tamaribuchi applied the Mousse Volumifique to the before a rough dry and center part. To add texture and grip, she applied the Powder Bluff before the draping the hair back, covering the ears, into a low ponytail, pinning a small back-combed section to wrap around the elastic. She also the the dry shampoo facing up to catch all of the baby hair and frizz for a more roughed up edge and a little Laque Dentelle for good measure. She topped off the look by applying tufts of black feathers on the the hair's roots with eyelash glue for added movement and drama.
The Makeup: Letting the skin breathe, save for a little concealer if needed, Butter London's Katie Hughesopted for a harlequin-esque eye using “Union Jack Black” Wink Masracara to bump up the lashes and the eye pencil in the same hue only on the bottom lash line (heavily) before adding a few black crystals as teardrop on one eye. Cheeks were kissed with Honey Pie Cheeky Cream Blush and the pout was kept mostly nude with the Toasted Marshmallow Lippy Tinted Lip Balm with a tiny dab of the balm in Strawberry Fields in the center by hand for a just-finished-a-lollipop look.
The Mani: Mimicking the collage of colors from the collection, Hughes create a base with Butter London's “Union Jack Black” before covering the nails with a mix of nail foils, crystals, and fuzzy pom-poms in a rainbow of hues.
