Backstage Beauty Beat: Reed Krakoff

THE HAIR: Guido Palau used Redken products to keep the hair looking natural for the Reed Krakoff runway show. First, he washed the hair with a daily moisturizing shampoo and then used Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow-Dry Spray to add a bit of weight to the hair. He created a messy middle part and brushed the hair behind models’ shoulders. If the model’s hair didn’t have much texture to it, stylists added it with a curling iron. The natural look allowed stylists to maintain as much individuality as possible from girl to girl.

THE MAKEUP: Keeping consistent with Guido’s undone hair look, Diane Kendal used minimal makeup on models. She went for healthy-looking skin using MACFace & Body Foundation and Mineralize Skinfinish to conceal where necessary. Then, Kendal simple brushed the eyebrows up, filling in any holes and using brow gel to tame. MAC Greapaint was used for contour on the eye, and cheekbones and eyelids were highlighted using a lighter concealer. Kendal used the creamy Chomagraphic eye pencil in the waterline and finished with lipstick (used as blush) on the cheeks. She just put Lip Conditioner on lips for moisture.

THE MANI: The two-minute mani gave models’ hands a clean look. Michelle Saunders applied one coat of Essie's Mademoiselle and one coat of Matte About You on the nails. The toes got a bit more attention with two coats of Carry On, a deep purple that matched a garment from the collection, and a high-shine topcoat.
