Beauty Buzz: Lena Dunham Goes Dark, Max Factor Loves Marilyn, and Lady Gaga’s Shiseido Selfies

After playing with platinum strands, Lena Dunham has turned back to the dark side. The star was spotted on Monday rocking a rich brunette hue, with a touch of auburn. We love the color, but we think everyone else is focusing on her left ring finger instead of the top of her head… [People]

Over 50 years since her passing, Marilyn Monroe has snapped up another beauty contract, this time with Max Factor. The campaign focuses on Monroe’s Hollywood transformation from Norma Jeane Mortenson (her birth name) as the girl next door, to the legendary blonde bombshell, which came from Factor himself. As Pat McGrath explained, “Marilyn made the sultry red lip, creamy skin and dramatically lined eyes the most famous beauty look of the 1940s….It is the ultimate look that defines glamour—nothing else compares.” [WWD]

We admit we’re shameless when it comes to our selfies, but Lady Gaga’s taken it to another level. The Art Pop songstress is not just the face of Shiseido’s 2015 campaign but also the photographer, with an array of epic beauty looks. The brand used 46 of her Instagram selfies as ads in Japanese newspapers on New Year’s Day, and revealed four more yesterday. While it’s not slated for our shores, we’re sure to use the pics for added inspiration. [InStyle]
