We really hope you haven’t reached your wardrobe’s athleisure quota yet, because this is something you’re going to want to hold out for. Beyoncé is joining forces with London-based Topshop to produce an athletic street wear brand. But, this isn’t just your average celebrity-retailer one-off collaboration. It’s an entire business unto itself. Topshop owner Sir Philip Green told Women’s Wear Daily, “This is not a collaboration. This is about building a brand and building a business—a separate, proper business with separate overhead and a separate office.”
With Topshop’s need to get into the growing athletic sector and Beyoncé’s star power and loyalty to the brand, the partnership makes complete sense. For the yet unnamed line, Beyoncé would work closely with the product development team to “create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection,” the singer said. By fall 2015 at the earliest, the Topshop-Beyoncé collection will be available in stores and online and will encompass clothing, footwear and accessories. Whether you’re a dancer, avid gym-goer or athlete (or just a huge Beyoncé fan with a penchant for cool street style), there will surely be something for you. Green even mentioned the possibility of Beyoncé creating workout videos for Topshop, which would really just bring athleisure to a whole new level.
