Blake Lively has quickly risen to fashion icon status. The Gossip Girl star is a favorite of Vogue editor Anna Wintour and it appears Karl Lagerfeld has taken a liking to her too. The famed designer has tapped Lively to serve as the face of Chanel's Mademoiselle handbags. The duo first met when Lively accompanied Wintour to the couture shows in Paris this past July; she was also on hand to celebrate the re-opening of the Chanel store in Soho.
Lagerfeld considers Lively "a kind of American dream girl," and she will therefor follow in the footsteps of stars like Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightly, and Audrey Tautou. As brand ambassador, the 23-year-old starlet was captured by Lagerfeld's lens in Coco Chanel's apartment at 30, rue Cambon in Paris; ads will appear in the April magazines. We can also expect to spot her carrying a variety of the lust-worthy handbags, which retail between $2,000 to $3,300.
