Bow Down: Beyonce’s Super Bowl Halftime Show is Nominated for an Emmy
Those Carters are having the best week, ever. While Blue Ivy's parents are on tour—Beyoncé with The Mrs. Carter Show and Jay Z in The Legends of Summer Tour, stopping in New York tomorrow—Bey's Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show received an Emmy nomination!
Mrs. Jay Z (who coincidentally just dropped the hyphen from his name), wasn't listed as a producer for the segment that aired back in February and reunited the members of Destiny's Child. Instead, producers Ricky Kirshner, Steve Bornstein, Mark Quenzel, and Lawrence Randall earned the nod for recognition as an Outstanding Special Class Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Programs contender. The musical segment has stiff competition though: Yahoo.com's Burning Love, 30 Rock's “The Webisodes,” Cartoon Network's Children's Hospital, Funny or Die's Between Two Ferns, The Daily Show's Correspondents Explain, and Parks and Recreation's “April and Andy's Road Trip.”
See? Stiff. What do you think, will Beyoncé tell her competitors to “Bow Down” in this category too? Last year, Children's Hospital took home the award.
