Whether you realize it or not, you probably have a few Thanksgiving traditions. Many of these traditions have been passed from one generation to the next. For some families, it's all about the meal, For some it's about drinking cheap booze with friends and laughing until it hurts. Some of us are parade-watchers and some of us have sworn off turkey altogether. When it comes to giving thanks and celebrating with family and friends, celebrities are just like us.
Oprah Winfrey may be worth billions, but she prefers to cook her own feast. "Caramelized onions are so pretty they make me sing. My kitchen smells like home." She also prepared "sweet potatoes with freshly pickled rosemary."
Jessica Alba isn't afraid to stuff a bird. A pile of sliced limes and cubes of butter were at her side as the 31-year-old prepared the bird for the oven.

Anne Hathaway is making her own traditions, which include multiple turkey's. "I've just had to deal with the classic Thanksgiving conundrum of there's too many people coming for the size turkey I can fit in my oven. So I've decided to make one turkey the traditional way and deep fry another turkey."
Heidi Klum says it's all about the kids. The mother of four children ranging in ages 4 - 9 years offers tips for keeping kids entertained before and during Thanksgiving dinner. She says you need to provide enough materials and activities to keep kids entertained for about 2 hours.
Lauren Conrad likes to think of something new. "This has become one of my favorite new traditions at my own family’s Thanksgiving celebrations. Everyone comes up with a dish to serve, and I spend the month of November perfecting it."
Katy Perry welcomed a new family member last year. Perry and her grandma posed for an adorable Thanksgiving Day Twitter photo. "Hope everyone is having a lovely Tday. Most thankful for my friends & family & welcoming Kai to the group," Perry tweeted.
Joan Rivers prefers a catered affair. Joan cooked the Thanksgiving meal for her family 30 years ago. "It was so terrible we had to send out for deli food, My husband said, 'You can write a joke. Get out of the kitchen.'" Ever since, Joan has hosted a catered dinner for family and friends in her New York City apartment.
Emmy Rossum's bird is a movie prop, “Shooting a thanksgiving scene today on You’re Not You. Had to snap a pic with the on set turkey as there’s no way MY bird will EVER look this good next week! #thanksgiving #gobblegobble,” the 26-year-old actress wrote on Instagram.
Traditions aside, some stars will actually have to work during the holiday.
