The first week of October was all about autumn white, because clearly, there is now such a thing. They missed the Labor Day cutoff and it's too early to categorize their looks as winter white, so Hollywood's most fashionable stars have decided to come up with new rules regarding when to wear this classic color. Here's to throwing away the handbook for the sake of haute style!
Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron, and Emma Watson wore pearly frocks that could easily translate into warmer months. We adore the diverse array of sleeveless silhouettes they chose--from high-neck to off the shoulder--and give them each a round of applause for their smart accessorizing. Leaving pastel and bright details behind in summer, these fashionable actresses chose shoes and clutches in edgier yet low-key metallic and black patterns. Jewels and makeup was also kept to a minimum, allowing the crisp and clean white palette to steal the show.
Accessorizing in similar style, Jennifer Hudson kept things minimalistic, simply adding a sparkling brooch to her white mini and pairing in with dark pumps. We love that she chose a design with long sleeves--the perfect type of cocktail dress for the cold. Kerry Washington and Julianne Moore were all about subtlety as well, going for a bit of a more luxurious look, though, by choosing longer dresses in this week's famous color. Their added baubles and bags were silver, giving a whimsical, frosted-like feature to their white frocks.
